The first thing guests ask when they walk into our building on Meeuwenlaan for the first time isn’t where the microphones are. They ask, “Is there a restaurant here?” There is a restaurant. There’s also a movie theater for private screenings. We’re surrounded by creative agencies. Our studio is right in the middle of it all, and that combination really makes a difference on a day of filming.
Still, I often hear the same concern: The North—isn’t that quite a distance?
The North is closer than you think
If you Google “rent a podcast studio in Amsterdam,” you probably think of the city center. I get that. Until a few years ago, Amsterdam North felt like quite an adventure to a lot of people: the IJ Tunnel, the ferry—it was a real hassle.
But Noord has changed. It has now become one of the city’s most vibrant creative neighborhoods. And the building on Meeuwenlaan, where our studio is located, is a perfect example of this: a multi-tenant building filled with offices, creators, and production companies, with exactly the energy you’d expect from Noord.
Practical info: You can drive there and park for a low fee right next to the building. Or you can take the ferry, one of the most quintessentially Amsterdam experiences there is. A two-minute ride across the IJ, with the Central Station skyline on one side and the Noord skyline on the other. You couldn’t ask for a better arrival.
A building that’s already doing something before you even get started
We chose our studios based on the quality of the equipment and on the effect the space has on the people who come to record there. The latter factor is just as important.
At the Werfkelders in Utrecht, it’s the history you feel the moment you walk down the stairs. In Amsterdam Noord, it’s the hustle and bustle and the diverse mix of people in the building. Whether you grab lunch at the restaurant between shoots, or celebrate the launch of your podcast right in the building with a private screening in the cinema: these are moments that happen away from the microphone, yet still contribute to how relaxed the day feels. A guest who likes the building sits differently at the table.
The studio itself
Our Amsterdam studio is set up as an audio and video podcast studio, with 4K equipment available as standard. We’ll tailor the setup and lighting to suit your show’s needs. Feel free to bring props or materials from your own company if you’d like—they’ll fit right in.
Included with every booking: an experienced technician who will be on hand throughout the day, all recording equipment, coffee and tea, and the raw footage delivered digitally afterward via WeTransfer or the cloud.
What you can record
Most clients in Amsterdam opt for a video podcast because the studio is fully equipped for that. But we also record audio-only episodes, and it’s easy to combine both in a single day. Whether you’re creating an internal company podcast, a branded series for a large audience, or want to run a test before investing further: the studio adapts to your needs.
After filming, you can choose whether to leave the editing to us or continue working on the raw footage yourself. Editing, sound editing, video editing, and distribution to Spotify and YouTube: we’re happy to handle all of that for you.
